When does Mountain Trail Academy open?
Mountain Trail Academy opens for the 2025–2026 school year on July 21, 2025.
What makes a STEAM-focused school special?
STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Hands-on learning in these areas enables students to engage deeply with content and fosters critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. In a collaborative STEAM learning environment, students develop essential teamwork and communication skills.
What grades does your school serve?
Mountain Trail Academy serves pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. See the district Preschool page for more information on our preschool program.
Do you provide bus transportation?
If you live within the Mountain Trail Academy boundaries, your student will have bus transportation. For your student to have transportation for the first day of school, please fill out our Bus Transportation Form by July 11, 2025.
If you live outside of the Mountain Trail Academy boundaries, you can apply for your students to access an existing bus stop. We approve these requests on a first-come, first-served basis only if there are seats available on the bus. Please complete the Outside Boundaries Request Form. The district makes these decisions two weeks after the first day of school.
We reside in the MTA boundaries and will be attending MTA, is my child eligible for a bus?
Yes, all students residing in the MTA boundaries attending MTA will be eligible for transportation
How do I register my child for the bus?
To register your child for the bus, please use the bus registration form; you will need to complete the form for each of your students who will be needing access to the bus. The deadline for your student to access transportation services for the first day of school is July 11, 2025. All registrations after July 11 may not be processed for the first day of school. What if I reside outside of the MTA boundaries but would like transportation?
Families can apply to be approved for their students to access an existing bus stop. Approvals for requests are filled on a first come-first serve basis and are only approved if there are seats available on the bus. Parents need to complete the form below in order to request their student be approved for access to the bus. Decisions are made for this two weeks after the first day of school, beginning on August 4, 2025.
What if my student will periodically ride the bus?
Still register your student, there are no minimum requirements for ridership, it just allows transportation to hold a seat on the bus for days they need transportation.
Can I request bus services later in the year if we decide that we need it?
Yes, you can request bus services at any time throughout the year. Requests will be processed in 24 to 48 hours and families will be notified once the request has been approved.
Can my child attend Mountain Trail Academy if we live outside its boundaries?
If capacity allows, we can enroll students within the Queen Creek Unified School District but outside Mountain Trail Academy boundaries. See our School Capacity Levels page for more information.
